Choreographer Peter Hein was an Indian action fight master. He is the stunt coordinator that who works in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam language films. He was born in the year 1973 on August 12 in Thirunallar town, Karaikal, Puducherry City, Tamil Nadu state, in India.
Peter Hein parents are Mary (mother) and Perumal (father). His father had worked as the assistant fight master in the Tamil films. Peter had started his career as the extra fighter and the assistant fight master for the many Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam films.
During the starting days of his career he had worked as the assistant to the action directors “Kanal Kannan and the Vijayan”. During his early days he was the body double (Replacement) for the heroes as well as the heroines.
In 2001, Peter Hein made his film debut as a fight master in Gautham Vasudev Menon’s directorial debut “Minnale”. Telugu film director Krishna Vamsi recognized Peter Hein’s sincerity and dedication.
He offered him the opportunity to direct action sequences for “Murari” film. This movie also dubbed into Tamil Language.
Choreographer Peter Hein had become the full length action film director. He worked as the action coordinator, stunt director for the various Telugu and Tamil films.
He had acquired the recognition from the critics and the media for his work in the several films like as Anji, Run, Anniyan, Varsham, Athadu, Chatrapathi and the Kaakha Kaakha.
Then Ram Gopal Varma introduced Peter Hein as a fight choreographer in Bollywood with the movie James. Director Mani Ratnam had been very much impressed with Peter Hein work in the films like Sivaji, Anniyan and Athadu etc.
Director Mani Ratnam has roped in Peter Hein to direct stunt sequences for Raavan. But due to his busy schedule with the film Magadheera, he did some limited works for Raavan movie.
Peter Hein was the first recipient of the National Film Award for Best Stunt Choreographer for his work in the movie Pulimurugan in the year 2016. He had also directed the Indo Vietnamese film “Sam Hoi: The Living Sandbag” in the year 2021.
Peter Hein won the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Stunt Coordinator for the movie “Bose” in 2004. He also won the Filmfare Award for Best Action Director in South for the movie “Anniyan” in 2005.
Peter Hein won the Edison Award for the movie “Ethiran: The Robot” in 2010. He also won the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Stunt Coordinator for the movie “Ko” in 2011. He received the South Indian International Movie Award in 2011. In the same year, he won the Norway Tamil Film Festival Award for Best Stunt Choreographer for the movie “Ko”.
Peter Hein won Nandi Award for Best Fight Master in the movie Baahubali: The Beginning in the year 2015. He won National Film Award for Best Stunt Choreographer for the movie Pulimurugan in the year 2016.
Special Jury Award in 19th Asianet Film Awards in the year 2017, Norway Tamil Film Festival Award for Best Stunt Choreographer for the movie “Asuran” in the year 2021.
The nominations were Vijay Award for Best Stunt Director for the movie Sivaji-The Boss in the year 2007, Taurus World Stunt Award for Best Action in the Foreign Film Raavanan in the year 2010.
He got Vijay Awards for Best Stunt Director for the following movies Enthiran: The Robot, 7aum Arivu (2011) and Maattrraan (2012). Also he received South Indian International Movie Award for the movie Pulimurugan in the year 2016. He won Edison Awards for the movie “Spyder” in the year 2017.
Peter Hein was best known for his action sequences in the films like the movies ‘Anniyan’ in the year 2005, Athadu movie (2005), Chatrapathi (2005) and Enthiran (2010).
He worked as a stunt choreographer for the following movies: Ranna in 2015, 7aum Arivu in 2011, Baahubali in 2015, Pulimurugan in 2016, Odiyan in 2018, Madhura Raja in 2019, and Jack & Daniel in 2019.
The Stunt masters like Ram Laxman, Anal Arasu, Silva, Dhilip Subbarayan, Anbariv, Hari Dinesh and Pradeep Dinesh had worked as the fighters and also as the assistants to Peter Hein.
