Werner Herzog birth name was Werner Stipetic. His family had moved back to the Munich when he was tewlve years old. His father was abandoned the family at the early of his youth. Stipetic later adopted his father’s surname, Herzog. He thought that this surname had a more impressive sound for a filmmaker.
